As you know 3D modeling in after effect is so easy in after effects using elements 3D plugins,
First create your character in cinema 4D or any software that you use for modeling. After creating a 3d model import them to elements affect directory or download from internet in obj or E3d file format. Create new layer into the composition then apply the effect element 3D, (It is extra plugins not a default part of adobe you can download it over internet). After apply the e3d effect the from effect option box animate as your footage needs that is done.
